Project Engineer (Water Infrastructure)
Weatherford, TX| Full Time | On-site with field travel
About the Company
Our client is a national leader in water infrastructure. They’re a specialty contractor that builds and repairs concrete water storage structures for municipalities and utilities across the country. With decades of history and a strong reputation, they’ve grown rapidly in recent years and are expanding their team in Raleigh. Their culture is close-knit, leadership knows employees by name, and many of today’s leaders started in this exact role.
The Opportunity
This is a true career track into project management, not a licensed engineering or design role. As a Project Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced Project Managers and field teams, learning the business from preconstruction through closeout. Most Project Engineers are promoted to Project Manager within 18 to 24 months.

- Review plans and specifications for accuracy, constructability, and scope
- Purchase materials, track lead times, and coordinate with vendors and suppliers
- Support cost tracking, forecasting, billing, and schedule updates
- Support QA/QC on site and document field conditions
- Coordinate with general contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Take part in safety walks and support a strong jobsite safety culture
- Assemble closeout packages, including O&M manuals, as-builts, and warranty documents
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil, Structural, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent hands-on industry experience will also be considered.
- 0 to 3 years of experience. Recent graduates with construction internships are encouraged to apply.
- Strong organization and the ability to juggle several projects at once
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career in project management
Nice to Have
- Experience with a specialty contractor, concrete, heavy civil, or water and wastewater
- Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project
- OSHA 30 and First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
Work Environment
The role is a mix of office and field work, with regular travel to project sites in the region. Travel expenses, including per diem and lodging, are covered. Full hands-on training in the company’s construction and repair methods is provided.
