Project Engineer

Overall Purpose of the Role:

Ensure the execution of projects by supporting the Project Manager in coordinating tasks, managing resource, and maintaining clear communication between all stakeholders.

Foster and improve existing project management systems (APQP) to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in the automotive sector.

Monitor and review the current project status and timelines to ensure the project will be fulfilled as agreed.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Initiation

• Assist the Project Manager in planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones.
• Coordinate tasks and activities to the subordinated project leader, ensuing alignment with project goals.
• Monitor project progress, identifying potential delays and recommending solutions.

Budget and Resource Management

• Establish and monitor the project budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
• Allocate resources effectively, managing any constraints to avoid bottlenecks.
• Track expenses, adjust allocations if needed, and ensure the project remains financially viable.

Team Leadership and Collaboration

• Create, guide, and motivate a cross-functional team. (APQP Core Team)
• Facilitate communication between departments to ensure alignment on project goals.
• Resolve conflicts and promote teamwork to maintain a productive work environment.

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintaining details project documentation that captures all steps, decisions, and changes.
• Regular reporting to the management and senior management.
• Lead the internal APQP and Project meetings to report status, gate reviews, and delays.

Customer Relations and Change Management

• Manage customers expectations and communicate project scope changes or adjustments.
• Implement change management processes to ensure that any modifications align with project goals.

Adherence to Standards and Regulations

• Ensure the project meets all industry-specific standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., safety, environmental regulations)

• Conduct audits and reviews to maintain compliance with internal and external standards.

• Independently determine approach and assigned tasks

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Manufacturing or a related field.
• Significant experience in project management within the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in project management methods, and their related tools.
• Familiarity with automotive industry regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid background in IATF 16949, VDA and ISO 14001.
• Good command in English.
