Project Engineer – Electrical

Job descriptions:

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day engineering and commissioning activities across assigned projects.

• Support overall project execution, including site management, project controls, engineering coordination, procurement, construction supervision, and commissioning activities.

• Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with approved budgets, schedules, and project milestones.

• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) standards.

• Provide accurate and timely progress updates and technical reports to the Senior Manager and relevant stakeholders.

• Identify project variations, scope changes, and additional work requirements, and escalate them to management as appropriate.

• Maintain effective communication and coordination with contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.

• Prepare and maintain meeting records, action logs, and project documentation.

• Manage project closeout activities, including final testing, handover documentation, warranty collection, and client acceptance.

• Support tendering and proposal preparation activities when required.

• Oversee electrical and electronic systems throughout the project lifecycle.

• Participate in project planning to define Testing & Commissioning requirements, methodologies, procedures, and schedules.

• Conduct functional, integrated, and performance testing of electrical, mechanical, and associated systems to verify operational readiness.

• Troubleshoot commissioning issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to achieve project objectives.

• Perform any other duties assigned by management to support project and business requirements.

• Reports directly to the Project Manager for daily work assignments, project execution, and workload management.

• Receives additional guidance and oversight from the Deputy Project Director as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3-8 years of experience in Testing & Commissioning, Electrical Engineering, Project Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience in mission-critical facilities, Data Centers, industrial plants, constructions, commercial buildings, or large-scale MEP projects is highly preferred.
• Solid knowledge of electrical systems, including MV/LV distribution systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
• Familiarity with Testing & Commissioning processes, methodologies, procedures, and documentation.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, method statements, and technical documents.
• Experience in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolving technical issues during testing and commissioning activities.
• Strong understanding of EHS regulations and QA/QC requirements within construction and commissioning environments.
• Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and local regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, COMOS, ETAP, or other engineering software is an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites as required.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Professional Engineering License (if applicable) and Data Center commissioning experience will be considered an advantage.
