This is a critical operational and technical leadership role responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and reliability of high-voltage electrical infrastructure across renewable generation assets.
Working between the Melbourne office and operational wind farm sites, you will provide technical oversight of HV switching, outage management, asset maintenance, fault investigations, commissioning activities and network safety compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine office-based engineering with hands-on field leadership within a growing renewable energy portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

- Authorise HV switching activities, switching sheets, isolation plans, permits and testing sanctions.
- Manage access, isolation, earthing, arc flash controls and safe approach requirements for HV assets.
- Oversee maintenance, testing and return-to-service activities across electrical infrastructure.
- Support preventative, condition-based and major maintenance programs.
- Lead technical investigations, fault analysis and root cause assessments following system events and equipment failures.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to improve asset performance and operational reliability.
- Support outage planning, execution, commissioning, re-energisation and emergency response activities.
- Drive reliability improvements, lifecycle planning and asset optimisation initiatives.
- Coordinate contractors, operations personnel and technical service providers during maintenance and outage activities.
- Provide technical support during after-hours incidents, outages and network events as required.
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working with HV and LV electrical systems within utilities, power generation, renewable energy or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of HV switching, operational safety and electrical asset management.
- Experience supporting maintenance, commissioning and operational activities across critical electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound engineering decisions in operational environments.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within wind farms, renewable energy assets or power generation facilities would be highly advantageous.
Why Apply?
- Join a major renewable energy project with a long-term pipeline of work.
- Play a key role in the operation and reliability of critical HV infrastructure.
- Work across both office and field environments, gaining exposure to a diverse asset portfolio.
- Be part of a high-performing team supporting Victoria's energy transition.
- Competitive contract rates and ongoing project opportunities.
