Project Engineer (ELV, Telecom & Security Systems)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and technically sound Project / Implementation Engineer to lead our on-site execution, installation, and testing of ELV, Telecommunications, and Security systems. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering design and actual site delivery for our commercial, industrial, and marine projects. You will be responsible for supervising sub-contractors, managing site schedules, programming advanced systems, and ensuring successful handover to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day site installation activities, ensuring work progresses according to project timelines, engineering drawings, and specifications.
• Supervise and coordinate internal technicians and external sub-contractors handling cable pulling, containment installation, and device mounting.
• Resolve any unexpected on-site technical issues or structural clashes in coordination with the project manager.
• Perform configuration, programming, and software integration for IP CCTV, Access Control Systems (ACS), Public Address (PA/GA), and LAN/WAN networks.
• Drive the pre-commissioning and final Testing & Commissioning phases alongside clients and consultants to secure formal sign-offs.
• Represent Videomarin in site progress meetings with main contractors, clients, and consultants.
• Prepare mandatory project documentation, including As-Built drawings, Method Statements, Testing & Commissioning reports, and Operation & Maintenance Manuals (OMM).
• Enforce strict industrial and marine safety standards on-site.
• Arrange necessary Permits to Work (PTW) and ensure all site workers follow hazard control protocols.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer/IT Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of solid hands-on experience in ELV, security, or telecom project implementation.
• Experience in industrial plants, oil & gas, or marine ports is a major advantage.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP addressing, router/switch configurations, and fiber optic basics.
• Practical experience programming major security brands (e.g., Hikvision, Dahua, Bosch, Honeywell, Cisco).
• Ability to read, interpret, and mark up engineering layouts in AutoCAD.
• Physically fit and comfortable working in demanding industrial, shipyard, or offshore vessel environments.
• Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia to manage client and sub-contractor relations.
