What they need
About the Role
We deliver complex commercial and industrial projects nationwide, with a focus on advanced technology and mission-critical facilities - including data centers, AI and high-performance computing infrastructure, server manufacturing, integration and burn-in/test facilities, IT labs, and other high-density, MEP-intensive environments. Working as both a general contractor and owner's representative, this entry-level role sits between design and construction. You will coordinate with architects and engineers, help translate design requirements into procurement and field execution, and bring constructability, schedule, cost, and field constraints back to the design team. You will learn the full project lifecycle and grow toward a Project Manager role.
Responsibilities
- Assist with maintaining RFI, submittal, and shop drawing logs; keep records current and follow open items to written closure
- Track long-lead equipment procurement and delivery against the schedule, and communicate potential issues early
- Support project schedule updates by recording progress, milestones, upcoming activities, and potential impacts
- Assist with basic cost tracking, subcontractor invoices and pay applications, and change order documentation
- Serve as a day-to-day coordination point between design consultants, procurement vendors, subcontractors, and the field team under the direction of the Project Manager or Superintendent
- Proactively research, identify, and contact equipment and material suppliers as well as architectural, structural, and MEP design consultants; support RFQs, compare qualifications, scope, pricing, and lead times, and maintain organized vendor records
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications for constructability, scope gaps, cross-trade conflicts, and field conditions; document questions and coordinate resolutions with the design team
- Support permitting and inspection coordination, including plan check submittals, comment responses, special inspections, and scheduling with the authority having jurisdiction
- Prepare meeting agendas and minutes, track action items, and follow up with responsible parties
- Maintain project documentation and reporting, including daily reports, photo records, logs, punch lists, and status updates
- Participate in site walks and learn field operations, safety, quality control, commissioning, and project closeout
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Construction Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field
- 0-3 years of relevant experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply; internships, co-ops, and relevant academic projects are valued, and prior full-time construction experience is not required
- Basic understanding of the construction project lifecycle, or a demonstrated interest in learning how owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and design teams work together
- Able to read construction drawings and specifications at a basic level, with introductory familiarity with HVAC systems and structural concepts; willing to build stronger technical skills with guidance
- Ownership and follow-through. You ask questions when something is unclear, follow open items to closure, and avoid guessing. Curiosity, reliability, and willingness to learn matter more to us than years of experience.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese is required, including professional written and spoken communication in both languages; you will work with bilingual ownership, vendors, consultants, and partners on a daily basis
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Comfortable working on active construction sites with required PPE; valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic proficiency with Excel; familiarity with Bluebeam Revu or similar PDF markup tools is helpful but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, co-op, coursework, or project experience with a general contractor, MEP subcontractor, architecture/engineering firm, or owner's representative
- Exposure to RFIs, submittals, change orders, estimating, scheduling, procurement, vendor sourcing, BIM, or project controls
- Exposure to advanced technology or mission-critical facilities, such as data centers, AI or high-performance computing environments, server manufacturing, integration and burn-in/test facilities, IT labs, cleanrooms, or other high-density, MEP-intensive facilities
- Familiarity with MS Project, Revit, AutoCAD, and structural analysis or design software such as RISA or a similar platform
- Coursework, internship, or project exposure involving HVAC systems, structural systems, design coordination, constructability review, permitting, inspections, commissioning, or construction closeout
- Coursework or basic familiarity with building, electrical, mechanical, fire, or construction safety codes
- FE exam progress, EIT certification, an NCARB Record, or interest in a professional licensure path is a plus, but not required
