What they need

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Cutting List Preparation & Production Drawings

• Prepare accurate cutting lists from approved 2D detailed drawings for modular furniture and customized interior works. • Generate panel-wise cutting dimensions, material specifications, edge banding details, and hardware requirements. • Prepare production-ready drawings and ensure dimensional accuracy. • Optimize cutting lists to minimize material wastage and improve production efficiency. • Understand carcass construction, shutter sizing, panel thickness, allowances, and joinery details. 2. Drawing Quality Control (QC) Before Production • Conduct thorough technical QC of all drawings before releasing them for fabrication. • Verify dimensions, elevations, sectional details, material specifications, finishes, hardware placements, and construction methods. • Identify design discrepancies, missing information, impractical details, and manufacturing challenges. • Cross-check approved client drawings against final production drawings. • Ensure no unapproved or incorrect drawings are released for production. 3. Modular & Carpentry Work Segregation • Analyze project drawings and identify work suitable for factory modular manufacturing versus on-site carpentry execution. • Prepare separate scope lists for factory production and site carpentry. • Coordinate with production and execution teams for proper work allocation. • Evaluate the feasibility of factory manufacturing based on transportation, installation, site access, and assembly requirements. 4. Cutting List & Material Quantity Verification • Cross-verify cutting lists against approved 2D layouts, elevations, and final measurements. • Validate the total quantity of boards, shutters, laminates, edge bands, hardware, and accessories. • Ensure accurate material allocation for every modular unit. • Detect missing items, duplicate quantities, dimensional errors, and incorrect material specifications. • Maintain material consumption records and wastage calculations. 5. Material Quantity Analysis & Budget Planning • Prepare detailed Bill of Materials (BOM) and project-wise material quantity estimates. • Calculate plywood, HDHMR, laminates, edge banding, hardware, accessories, and other production material requirements. • Evaluate material consumption against the approved project budget. • Optimize material utilization while maintaining approved quality standards. • Identify potential cost overruns before production. • Coordinate with the Purchase and Production departments to ensure accurate material ordering. 6. Final Site Marking & Execution Feasibility • Verify final site measurements and marking details before production. • Cross-check drawings against actual site conditions. • Evaluate practical feasibility concerning walls, columns, beams, electrical points, plumbing provisions, appliance dimensions, ceiling levels, and installation clearances. • Identify potential site execution challenges before manufacturing. • Coordinate with designers, planning managers, and project heads to resolve technical discrepancies. • Ensure production dimensions align with final approved site measurements. 7. Modular Hardware & Technical Knowledge • Possess strong technical knowledge of modular furniture hardware and accessories. • Understand hinges, drawer channels, tandem systems, lift-up fittings, sliding systems, wardrobe mechanisms, kitchen accessories, connectors, and assembly fittings. • Familiarity with hardware brands such as Hettich, Hfele, Blum, Ebco, and similar manufacturers. • Verify hardware compatibility with cabinet dimensions, shutter weights, panel thicknesses, and manufacturing requirements. • Recommend technically suitable, cost-effective hardware solutions. • Prepare hardware schedules for production and purchasing. Required Technical Skills • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D and production/shop drawings. • Proficiency in cutting list preparation and furniture manufacturing detailing. • Knowledge of cutting list and nesting software such as CutList Optimizer, SketchUp, Cabinet Vision, IMOS, or similar tools is an advantage. • Excellent knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing processes. • Strong understanding of plywood, HDHMR, MDF, laminates, veneers, edge banding, and finishing materials. • Ability to prepare accurate BOQs, BOMs, material estimations, and cost calculations using Microsoft Excel. • Practical understanding of CNC cutting, edge banding, boring, panel assembly, and installation processes. • Knowledge of furniture hardware specifications and installation clearances. • Ability to identify drawing errors and manufacturing feasibility issues before production. • Strong coordination skills with design, purchase, production, and site execution teams. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) The selected candidate will be evaluated based on: 1. Cutting List Accuracy: Minimal dimensional errors, missing components, and production rework. 2. Drawing QC: Identification and correction of technical discrepancies before fabrication. 3. Material Optimization: Efficient material utilization and reduction in wastage. 4. Budget Accuracy: Material estimates aligned with approved project budgets. 5. Production Readiness: Timely release of validated, production-ready drawings and BOMs. 6. Site Feasibility: Reduction in installation issues resulting from drawing and measurement errors. 7. Hardware Accuracy: Correct hardware selection, quantities, and specifications. 8. Cross-Department Coordination: Effective communication between Design, Planning, Purchase, Production, and Execution departments. Reporting & Coordination Reports To: Planning Manager / Project Head Works Closely With: • 2D Design Team • Planning Department • Production Manager • Purchase Department • Project Managers & Site Execution Team Important Expectation This is a technical engineering and production planning role, not a creative interior designer position. The candidate must be capable of converting approved interior design drawings into accurate, technically feasible, budget-controlled, and production-ready manufacturing documentation. Accuracy, technical validation, material optimization, and prevention of manufacturing errors are the core responsibilities of this position. To Apply: Share your updated resume with relevant modular production drawing and cutting list experience.
