Overview
We're looking for a motivated and organised Project Engineer to support the delivery of engineering, construction and site modernisation projects.
Working closely with Project Managers and the Site Modernisation Manager, you'll help coordinate project activities, track progress, maintain documentation and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with an engineering, manufacturing, construction or automotive background who enjoys problem-solving, working with different stakeholders and understanding how projects are delivered from planning through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting Project Managers with the day-to-day coordination and delivery of engineering, construction and mechanical and electrical projects.
- Using Microsoft Project to help develop and maintain project plans, monitor progress and identify potential delays.
- Helping establish project requirements, understand deliverables and ensure activities align with agreed objectives.
- Maintaining project documentation, schedules and cost information, working closely with internal teams and external contractors.
- Developing an understanding of project costs, timescales and the impact that changes can have on successful delivery.
- Reviewing technical drawings and documentation, with a basic understanding of AutoCAD.
- Supporting the preparation and review of tender documentation and project requirements.
- Assisting with project safety documentation and ensuring relevant procedures and requirements are followed.
- Attending project meetings, communicating updates and helping resolve issues as they arise.
- Building relationships with Project Managers, engineers, contractors and other stakeholders across the business.
About you
We're keen to hear from candidates with experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or the automotive industry.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience supporting Project Managers, Project Engineers or project coordination activities.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project, with the ability to create, update or monitor project plans.
- A basic understanding of AutoCAD and the ability to interpret technical drawings.
- An awareness of how project decisions affect cost, timescales and delivery.
- Experience helping establish project requirements and familiarity with tender documentation.
- Basic Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Clear communication skills and the confidence to work with colleagues, contractors and other stakeholders.
A relevant engineering or construction qualification would be beneficial, but we're particularly interested in your practical experience, transferable skills and willingness to learn.
