What they need
Would you like to be part of a company that is employee owned? We invite you to consider joining WYATT. As a Project Engineer supporting power generation and heavy industrial construction projects, you will play a key role in coordinating field execution, project controls, planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and subcontractor management. This position works closely with project managers, field supervision, clients, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with technical and contractual requirements. Your contributions will directly support successful project outcomes, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction across complex industrial construction environments.
About Wyatt Since 1913, WYATT has been a trusted leader in heavy mechanical construction, turnaround services, maintenance, and capital projects. For more than a century, we have safely delivered complex projects across the refining, petrochemical, industrial, and power sectors through skilled craftsmanship, operational excellence, and an unwavering commitment to safety. As an employee-owned company, we take pride in building lasting relationships with our customers while creating opportunities for our employees to grow and succeed.
DAY IN THE LIFE A typical day begins with reviewing project priorities, coordinating with field leadership, subcontractors, and client representatives, and evaluating ongoing construction activities across active industrial jobsites. Throughout the day, you will perform site walks to verify safety compliance, monitor productivity and quality, review drawings and specifications, and help resolve technical and operational challenges that arise during project execution. You will support planning and scheduling activities, manage project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, and change orders, and assist with cost tracking, forecasting, and project controls reporting. Working closely with project managers, craft supervisors, inspectors, suppliers, and customers, you will help coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractor performance while contributing to commissioning, startup, outage, shutdown, and project closeout activities. Your ability to make sound decisions, communicate effectively, and maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and construction execution will contribute directly to successful project delivery and business performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant field experience may be considered.
- Minimum three (3) years of construction experience in heavy industrial, power generation, utility, energy, or similar industrial environments.
- Experience supporting field execution activities on industrial construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering documents, specifications, and technical procedures.
- Experience preparing and maintaining project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and tracking logs.
- Knowledge of construction planning, quality control, safety practices, material coordination, and project execution processes.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, teamwork, accountability, and organizational skills.
- Valid state-issued driver's license.
