Project Engineer (Mechanical)

Our client is a leading engineering and project delivery organization specializing in the execution of large-scale mission-critical, industrial, and infrastructure projects across the region. Due to continued business growth, they are seeking a capable and driven Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join their expanding project team.

This position offers the opportunity to work on complex engineering and construction projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes while maintaining safety, schedule, and budget commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to ensure project compliance.
• Manage and monitor mechanical installation works at site, ensuring alignment with project schedules and quality standards.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to facilitate project execution.
• Track project progress and proactively identify risks, delays, and technical issues.
• Support procurement activities including technical reviews, equipment evaluations, and vendor coordination.
• Ensure all site activities comply with project HSE, QA/QC, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in construction planning, site inspections, testing, commissioning, and system handover processes.
• Prepare progress reports, meeting documentation, and technical submissions as required.
• Assist in resolving site-related technical challenges and support engineering change management.
• Contribute to project close-out activities, including documentation, punch list clearance, and final acceptance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Project Engineering, Site Engineering, Construction Management, or Mechanical Engineering roles.

• Experience in at least one of the following sectors:

  • Data Centers
  • Industrial Facilities
  • Manufacturing Plants
  • Oil & Gas
  • Power Generation / Power Plants
  • Semiconductor or Electronics Facilities
  • Large Commercial Buildings
  • High-Rise Developments
  • Large-Scale Construction Projects

• Sound technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, chilled water systems, fire protection systems, plumbing, utility systems, piping networks, or process mechanical systems.

• Able to participate in meetings, prepare technical reports, and manage project documentation in English.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and construction documents.

• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction or engineering teams.

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD.

• Ability to work onsite and travel when required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mission-critical facilities or fast-track construction projects.
• Exposure to testing and commissioning activities.
• Familiarity with international engineering and construction standards.
• Experience working with EPC, MEP, or industrial project environments.
