Sydney, NSW | Full-time

Join an industry leading contractor and help deliver complex mechanical piping and fire protection projects across some of Australia’s most significant construction projects.

About Us

Endfire Engineering is a proudly Australian-owned specialist fire protection contractor delivering complex projects across infrastructure, defence, healthcare, corrections, petrochemical, commercial, industrial and transport sectors throughout Australia and New Zealand.

As our Sydney operations continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our team and support the successful delivery of major projects across New South Wales.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Projects Team in Sydney.

Working closely with Project Managers, engineers, technicians, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, you will help manage and coordinate the technical and engineering requirements of our projects.

The role will support project planning, procurement, technical coordination, cost control, contract compliance and project documentation to help ensure work is delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience working with mechanical piping systems within petrochemical, processing, oil and gas, industrial or similarly complex project environments.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate engineering and project delivery activities
  • Review drawings, specifications, contracts and technical documentation
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables, procurement, materials and equipment requirements
  • Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Monitor project progress, costs, risks and delivery requirements
  • Support project forecasting, cost control and variation management
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation
  • Identify technical or delivery issues and coordinate practical solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project and site team members
  • Assist with task allocation, team coordination and mentoring
  • Monitor compliance with contractual, technical, quality and safety requirements
  • Work across multiple engineering and construction disciplines to keep projects moving

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
  • At least three years’ experience in project engineering or a similar project delivery role
  • Demonstrated experience working with mechanical piping systems
  • Experience within petrochemical, processing, oil and gas, industrial or complex construction environments
  • Strong project coordination and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting project programs, budgets, procurement and cost control
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and contracts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A practical, proactive approach and the confidence to work across both site and office environments
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and project platforms such as Procore and Aconex
  • A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport

Experience within fire protection will be highly regarded but is not essential. Experience with AutoCAD or Revit will also be advantageous.

Why Join Endfire?

  • Work on large-scale, technically complex projects
  • Join an established business with a growing presence in Sydney
  • Work alongside experienced project, engineering and site teams
  • Build your experience across the full project lifecycle
  • Access genuine career development and progression opportunities
  • Receive an attractive salary package aligned with the experience required for the role

If you are an experienced Project Engineer looking for a role where you can take ownership, solve real project challenges and contribute to the delivery of complex work, we would like to hear from you.
