From managing RFIs and technical submittals to supporting construction activities in the field, you’ll gain hands-on experience across multiple disciplines while helping the team deliver safe, quality and efficient outcomes.

Our project engineer will be required to work full-time in person at both the construction site and the Integrated Program Office in Baltimore, Maryland.

What you'll do

  • Support engineering coordination activities, including the review, routing, tracking and closeout of Requests for Information (RFIs), technical submittals, design clarifications and other engineering deliverables

  • Coordinate with designers, technical disciplines, construction teams, contractors and stakeholders to facilitate timely resolution of engineering and field issues

  • Process and log engineering reviews, outstanding actions and deliverables, identifying potential delays and coordinating with the appropriate teams to keep activities moving forward

  • Maintain RFI, submittal, technical query, field change and design clarification logs and support engineering performance reporting

  • Participate in technical meetings, workshops and issue-resolution discussions involving civil, structural and other heavy civil construction disciplines

  • Support construction management activities, including field coordination, contractor oversight, schedule monitoring and interface management

  • Help confirm construction activities align with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, work plans, permits and contract requirements

  • Coordinate with field inspectors and contractors to communicate project requirements and support successful execution of the work

  • Review Inspection Daily Reports (IDRs) and coordinate observations, deficiencies and corrective actions with inspection and construction teams

  • Support contract administration, pay application reviews, issue tracking and project reporting

  • Assist in identifying construction risks, constraints and opportunities to improve project delivery

  • Conduct field observations in coordination with inspection staff and raise safety concerns when unsafe conditions or practices are identified
