What they need

Statkraft has been making clean energy possible for over a century. That’s what we offer. 125 years of unrivalled expertise in supplying the world with what it needs most. We envision a world that runs entirely on renewable energy. Because in the fight against climate change, we don’t see renewable energy as part of the solution – we believe it must be the solution. With us, you’ll shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match.

The Project Engineer Wind is responsible for leading all wind turbine technical topics across the full project lifecycle, from project feasibility through execution and handover. The role ensures robust technical definition during RFP processes, proposal evaluations, and contract technical appendices, while governing turbine quality, design, and interface management. During execution, the Project Engineer Wind oversees key turbine approval milestones and manages interfaces with BoP, grid, construction, and commissioning. The position provides essential wind turbine expertise across a LATAM project portfolio, supporting projects primarily in Peru while contributing, when required, to projects in Chile and Brazil, ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and risk control across all assigned projects.

  • Lead and own all wind turbine technical topics across the full project lifecycle, from early feasibility through execution, commissioning, and handover, ensuring technical integrity, compliance, and risk control.

  • Manage wind turbine supply and electromechanical subcontractors, covering technical contractual conditions, execution follow‑up, inspection and test plans, factory and site acceptance tests, and definition and closure of action plans for any deviations.

  • Develop and manage all technical interfaces between turbine suppliers, BoP contractors, grid, owner’s engineering, designers, construction, and commissioning teams, ensuring scope integration, constructability, and alignment with schedule, cost, and quality targets.

  • Lead and support RFP processes, including preparation of technical specifications, instructions to bidders, technical proposal evaluation, contract technical appendices, and technical support during commercial negotiations for turbine and electromechanical contracts.

  • Provide technical support to project development and pipeline projects, validating key technical documents for construction and operation, supporting governance decision gates, and ensuring technical readiness and risk mitigation ahead of execution.

  • Oversee turbine quality and performance, including approval of Mechanical Completion, Commissioning Completion, trial and Taking over documentation, conformity tests, final inspections, and verification of contractual performance and availability requirements.

  • Support and supervise execution, testing, and commissioning activities for wind turbines, ensuring compliance with standards, supplier obligations, and project safety and quality requirements.

  • Contribute to wind projects across LATAM, providing technical support and expertise to projects in Chile and Brazil when required, ensuring alignment with corporate standards, best practices, and lessons learned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in engineering, construction, and execution of wind projects.

  • Strong technical expertise in wind turbine technology applied to large-scale projects.

  • Experience in project management, governance, and contract execution.

  • Experience managing suppliers and engineering companies.

  • Experience with RFPs, technical evaluations, and contract documentation.

  • Fluent English and Spanish

  • Ability to work in international and multicultural environments

  • Unlimited learning opportunities at various levels of the organisation

  • The chance to grow your career alongside a truly global network of experts, leaders, specialists and graduates from different countries and backgrounds.

  • The opportunity to work somewhere with pride, and to be able to honestly say “My work is contributing to saving the planet”.

  • A work culture that puts emphasis on the individual, offering flexible working solutions, and work life balance principles.
