About the role

Tong Seng Fabricators Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor, offering an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates and early-career professionals to launch their engineering careers within a progressive manufacturing and fabrication company. As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating engineering projects from inception through to completion, ensuring that all work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position offers valuable exposure to real-world project management, technical problem-solving, and stakeholder collaboration in the fabrication and engineering sector.

Key responsibilities

1. Coordinate and monitor project timelines, schedules and milestones to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
2. Conduct site inspections and technical assessments to verify quality of work and compliance with project specifications
3. Prepare detailed project reports, documentation and progress updates for management and clients
4. Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution
5. Assist in the development of project plans, methodologies and procedures for fabrication and engineering works
6. Support technical reviews and problem-solving activities to address project challenges and optimise outcomes
7. Maintain comprehensive project records, drawings and technical documentation
8. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practice development within the engineering department
9. Assist senior engineers with design reviews, calculations and technical analysis as required

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline
2. Fresh graduates welcome – no prior experience required; we value enthusiasm and willingness to learn
3. Strong understanding of engineering principles, fabrication processes and project management fundamentals
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with technical drawing software (AutoCAD is a plus)
6. Strong organisational and time management abilities with attention to detail
7. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
8. Willingness to visit project sites and undertake field-based activities
9. Professional attitude with a commitment to safety, quality and continuous learning
