Project Engineer/Site Engineer (Construction)

The Project Engineer / Site Engineer is responsible for assisting the Site Agent in overseeing the progress of site works and manpower-related matters. The role ensures that project works are carried out according to the required schedule, quality standards, safety requirements, and environmental controls.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Monitor and review the master construction programme and prepare catch-up programmes where necessary.
• Monitor and supervise Engineers and Foremen to ensure compliance with quality procedures and required standards of workmanship.
• Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of works carried out by subcontractors.
• Prepare detailed work programmes for the site team and ensure works are completed within the required timeframe.
• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and technical difficulties in coordination with the Technical Team.
• Prepare detailed method statements and work instructions for construction activities.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal departments, and monitor site manpower, material, and equipment requirements to meet project schedules.
• Liaise with Consultants on submissions relating to structural works and coordinate with the Technical Department where required.
• Plan and coordinate all site activities, including work programmes and construction methods.
• Forecast equipment, material, and manpower requirements, and monitor their utilisation to minimise wastage and maintain cost efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to workplace safety practices, requirements, and procedures.
• Provide technical expertise and knowledge in foundation, structural, and building works.
• Possess good knowledge and understanding of construction method statements.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience as a Project Engineer / Site Engineer in the construction industry in Singapore or Malaysia.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project.
• Basic computer skills, with the ability to work with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PDF, and other relevant software.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Good written and spoken English.
