We’re representing an established mechanical construction organization seeking an experienced Project Executive to provide senior-level leadership across major mechanical/HVAC construction projects in the New York City market.

This position is ideal for a seasoned construction leader who can operate beyond individual project management—providing strategic direction, developing project teams, managing financial performance, strengthening client relationships, and helping drive successful project delivery.

The right individual will bring a strong understanding of mechanical construction along with the commercial and operational experience required to lead large, technically demanding projects.

What You’ll Lead

• Provide executive oversight for major mechanical/HVAC projects from preconstruction through closeout
• Establish project strategy, execution plans, budgets, schedules, and performance expectations
• Oversee project financial performance, forecasting, cash flow, cost control, and profitability
• Review contracts, scopes, commercial terms, risk exposure, and project requirements
• Provide leadership and direction to Senior PMs, PMs, Project Engineers, and project teams
• Establish accountability for project schedules, procurement, cost, quality, safety, and execution
• Oversee major equipment procurement, subcontractor relationships, and vendor negotiations
• Guide teams through complex change orders, claims, coordination issues, and commercial challenges
• Maintain executive-level relationships with owners, developers, GCs, construction managers, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders
• Participate in preconstruction, estimating, value engineering, and pursuit strategy
• Help develop project execution strategies that improve cost, schedule, constructability, and long-term system performance
• Monitor project KPIs and overall portfolio performance
• Identify risks and opportunities across projects and establish appropriate mitigation strategies
• Mentor and develop senior project management personnel
• Assist with strategic planning, client development, and repeat business opportunities
• Support major project negotiations and high-level commercial discussions
• Ensure successful commissioning, turnover, closeout, and post-project performance

Ideal Candidate

• 12+ years of progressive construction experience
• Significant experience with a mechanical contractor, HVAC contractor, or MEP organization
• Proven track record leading large and complex mechanical construction projects
• Strong technical understanding of HVAC, piping, mechanical equipment, and building systems
• Demonstrated ownership of substantial project financials and profitability
• Strong contract administration and commercial management experience
• Experience leading multiple project teams and senior-level project managers
• Strong client-facing and relationship-management skills
• Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and leadership abilities
• Strong understanding of construction scheduling, procurement, project controls, and risk management
• Ability to make strategic decisions while remaining engaged with project execution

Pay: $170,000.00 - $220,000.00 per year
