- We are seeking a highly skilled Facility / Infrastructure Project Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in the preparation, deployment, and handover of critical physical infrastructure for our project-based initiatives. In this role, you will be the technical authority ensuring that all facility systems - including electrical power distribution, water cooling supply, heat exhaust/ventilation, and associated MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems - are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned to meet both operational demands and safety standards.
- You will work at the intersection of engineering and project delivery, collaborating closely with Factory Facility teams, and stakeholders (Users, Purchasing Department, and Vendors) to transition new or upgraded infrastructure from concept to operational readiness.
Key responsibility:
Infrastructure Design & Planning:
- Review, interpret, and validate engineering designs, single-line diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs, and floor plans for power, cooling, exhaust, and water systems.
- Perform load calculations, capacity planning, and redundancy analysis (N+1, 2N) to ensure infrastructure meets current and future project requirements.
- Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
Project Execution & Coordination:
- Serve as the on-site technical lead for facility-related projects, overseeing installation, integration, and testing of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with Factory Facility teams to develop timelines, milestones, and resource allocation for infrastructure workstreams.
- Manage external contractors, vendors, and subcontractors (electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers) to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
- Lead or participate in commissioning (Cx) activities, including factory witness testing, site acceptance testing, and integrated system testing.
Operations & System Support:
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues during project cutovers, system migrations, or emergency scenarios.
- Develop and maintain detailed as-built documentation, operational playbooks, and preventive maintenance schedules for handed-over infrastructure.
- Implement energy-efficiency measures and sustainability initiatives (e.g., heat recovery, water conservation) without compromising reliability.
Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), hot work permits, confined space entry, and NFPA 70E electrical safe work practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) for all project activities.
- Ensure all infrastructure meets environmental and occupational health standards.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear reports, executive summaries, and presentations for non-technical stakeholders.
- ·Facilitate smooth handover from project teams to operations/maintenance teams, including training and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in facility operations, infrastructure projects, or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) systems management.
Technical Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of electrical power systems (transformers, switchgear, UPS, generators, load calculation).
- Working knowledge of cooling systems (chilled water plants, air-cooled systems, CRAC/CRAH units, psychrometric).
- Familiarity with heat exhaust / ventilation design and fire/life safety code requirements (NFPA, IBC).
- Experience with water supply and treatment (piping, pumps, backflow prevention, water quality monitoring).
- Project Support: Proven ability to support infrastructure projects from planning through commissioning and handover.
- Documentation: Competence in reading and interpreting single-line diagrams (SLDs), P&IDs, floor plans, and load schedules.
- Safety: Working knowledge of OSHA standards and NFPA 70E (electrical safe work practices).
- Software: Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit) or facility management software (e.g., CMMS, BMS).
Skills:
Technical Hard Skills:
- Electrical Systems: Deep understanding of UPS, backup generators, switchgear, power distribution units (PDUs), and load balancing.
- Mechanical & Cooling: Expertise in chilled water plants, air-cooled systems, CRAC/CRAH units, fluid dynamics, and thermal management.
- Ventilation & Exhaust: Knowledge of exhaust ducting, make-up air units, smoke evacuation, and fire/life safety integration.
- Water Systems: Experience with plumbing infrastructure, water treatment (filtration, softening, anti-scaling), and leak detection.
- Project Tools: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM, CMMS, and BMS/SCADA platforms.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEC, ASHRAE standards, and local building codes.
- Project Management Skills:
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with varying scopes and deadlines.
- Strong budget awareness and cost-control mindset.
- Experience with change management and risk mitigation in project delivery.
Soft Skills:
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose root causes of system failures quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Clear Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.
