• Seek guidance from the HSE Manager as appropriate before making critical and important decisions
• Provide direction to project team and make decisions in pursuit of the project and facility HSE goals and objectives.
• Perform/Facilitate Project Hazid Study(s)
• Develop and implement Project HSE Pan(s)
• Develop and implement Project specific HSE Procedures
• Solicit ideas from the team members in order to overcome any difficulties that may be encountered during the Implementation of the of the project, review and implement lessons learnt from prior projects
• Manage daily health, safety and environmental business activities, supervise activities of HSE staff assigned to the project
• Provide HSE guidance and leadership to management team and team leaders
• Perform Incident Investigation and ensure appropriate case management of incidents
• Develop, manage and present project specific HSE Orientations and Training programs.
• Conduct onsite and offsite HSE audits as required
• Audit Subcontractors and Monitor their performance.
• Accountable for integrity of all Project HSE data, record keeping and administrative reporting in accordance with company and client policy
• Ensure that employees receive prompt and complete medical attention and assists in the return to work process of injured employees
• Monitor environmental issues and advise management and field staff on environmental obligations
• Have a sound knowledge of Statutory HSE Regulations, industry HSE standards and ensure their correct Implementation
• Ensure company HSE policies and procedures are implemented consistently and effectively, and are known and understood by all employees.
• Install any revisions to procedures as directed by the HSE Manager or designate.
• Co-ordinate all inter-related matters between the HSE Committee, the Management Committee and Line Management.
• Liaise on a regular basis with fabrication medical personnel.
• Monitor the results and quality of TRA’s and Trend Analysis Reports.
• Provide meaningful advice to line-management on HSE matters including legislative and industry standards.
• Foster an environment for building team morale and build consensus within the team.
• Clearly delegate actions and responsibilities and define deliverable requirements in terms of both scope and schedule to team members
• Demonstrate good planning and organisation in day to day activities.
• Attend project HSE meetings, arrive fully prepared and informed to provide answers to questions raised during the meeting. X). Besides the above-listed, shall be responsible for other duties assigned by department manager or the company. Essential:
• Sound knowledge and ability to perform Incident Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
• Knowledge of Local HSE regulations and International Standards
• Proficiency in MSOffice software packages
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Good presentation skills,
• Be open and honest.
• Keep project and functional management apprised of all important items in a timely manner.
• Be a team player and understand your role as a member of the team
• Listen to project team members, supporting staff and company management and be prepared to act on issues raised.
• English Language skills, both “written and spoken”, must be at an acceptable level and show continuous improvement. The levels of acceptability and improvement will be determined by the HSE Manager’s best judgment.
• Supervisory experience preferred
• 5 years HSE experience in Steel Module Fabrication
• Have NEBOSH Certificate
• Degree /diploma or equivalent in HSE related subject
