Project Implementation Engineer

Reports to: Project Engineering Delivery Lead - Connectivity

Role Purpose: Technical implementation of customer facing projects within connectivity and networks technologies

Salary Range: £52,000-£56,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver a first-class customer experience in line with ITIL processes and service management best practices.
• Build, configure, test, and deploy customer network solutions in line with approved designs and project requirements.
• Prepare customer equipment from the Newark office, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, mobile extenders, and associated infrastructure.
• Own pre-implementation testing activities, ensuring routing, failover, remote access, and security requirements are fully validated before deployment.
• Produce detailed Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation for customer solutions, including comprehensive technical specifications and Visio network diagrams.
• Deploy project changes within customer and core network environments, identifying and resolving technical issues as required.
• Act as the technical lead during implementation activities and serve as the primary point of contact for Field Engineers and the NOC Technical Support Team.
• Conduct technical handover sessions and knowledge-transfer calls with the NOC to ensure operational readiness and supportability of delivered solutions.
• Create and maintain accurate "Network As Built" documentation following project completion.
• Ensure solutions are implemented in accordance with security best practices, hardening standards, and customer requirements.
• Update internal and customer-facing systems with all technical information required to support ongoing service delivery.
• Attend project meetings, customer calls, and technical workshops as required.
• Work collaboratively with Project Managers, Solution Architects, Field Engineers, Service Delivery teams, and the NOC to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Produce clear and professional technical documentation, reports, and communications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standards development, and implementation best practices.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Three years demonstrable experience in connectivity technologies
• Documentation – Run Books, Engineering Notes, Wiki’s
• ADSL, 4G, Ethernet, TCP/IP
• Cisco and Fortinet operating systems
• NSE 4,5,6,7
• VPN technology
• WAN and LAN
• SD-WAN

Pay: £52,000.00-£56,000.00 per year
