Project Installations Manager

Our client Dexion Auckland, part of Cemac, is continuing to build on its successful sales growth in industrial shelving and storage solutions, and is looking for an experienced Project Installations Manager to join the team.

In 1946, Demetrius Comino, looking for a better shelving solution, invented the first slotted angle steel construction system, which became known as Dexion. It revolutionised materials handling and storage worldwide, resulting in Dexion becoming the leading racking supplier, providing products from simple storage to fully integrated warehousing solutions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take full ownership of Dexion Auckland's shelving and storage installation projects, from scheduling through to completion. You’ll work alongside the sales, design and warehouse teams to deliver for customers. This is a hands-on role for someone who makes decisions confidently, can think laterally and is willing to get stuck in when the job requires it.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and programming all installation projects, including the master installation schedule, equipment ordering and contractor coordination
• Resolving project issues quickly and effectively
• Coordinating suppliers, contractors and staff to meet project commitments
• Overseeing quality control to ensure all trades meet the required standard
• Managing post contract administration and supporting debtor control
• Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with subcontractors
• Developing and building long-term customer relationships that support retention and repeat business
• Keeping clients informed and up to date through regular communication before and during their project
• Ensuring full compliance with Dexion's Health and Safety standards, including SWMS, site audits and inspections
• Providing regular, accurate reporting to the Operations Manager on project progress and profitability

About You

• Proven experience in project or installation management, ideally within construction, fit-out, shelving and storage, or a related trade
• Confident making decisions and solving problems on the spot
• A willingness to pitch in. This is a hands-on role that can sometimes involve heavy lifting and getting your hands dirty on site.
• Strong relationship-building skills with suppliers, contractors and clients
• A solid understanding of Health and Safety practices and a genuine commitment to site safety
• Excellent organisational and reporting skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
