What they need
WARRRL (WA Return Recycle Renew Ltd), the not-for-profit organisation behind Containers for Change, is undertaking a strategic project to establish a clear and consistent approach to organisation-wide documentation governance and control. This work will strengthen how organisational documentation is structured, classified, owned, approved and maintained across policies, procedures, frameworks, agreements and other controlled organisational documents.
About the Role
The Project Lead will be responsible for the design and implementation of WARRRL's future documentation governance model. This involves assessing the current documentation landscape, identifying gaps and inconsistencies, and developing a practical governance framework covering hierarchy, classification, ownership, approval pathways, standards and lifecycle controls.
The scope will also cover a review of document management practices and supporting technologies, recommending fit-for-purpose solutions, and working with senior leaders and subject matter experts to embed new arrangements across the organisation. This work will bring greater clarity to how organisational documents are created, approved, maintained and retired, reducing duplication and inconsistency and strengthening accountability across the business.
About You
Experienced in designing and implementing enterprise governance frameworks, documentation governance models or organisation-wide documentation management programs, you bring a practical understanding of ownership, classification, approval pathways, review cycles, version control and lifecycle management.
You have worked at an organisation-wide level, translating governance requirements into practical frameworks, processes and controls. You build credibility with executives and stakeholders through clear communication and a collaborative approach, bringing people with you when implementing change.
Hands-on and delivery-focused, you're comfortable developing frameworks, templates, drafting standards and implementation approaches, and thrive in roles that require practical execution rather than advisory oversight.
Key Deliverables
- Review WARRRL's controlled documentation landscape and identify gaps, duplication and inconsistencies.
- Develop and implement an Enterprise Documentation Governance Framework.
- Establish consistent templates, drafting standards and a documentation style guide.
- Map relationships across policies, procedures, frameworks, delegations and agreements.
- Define lifecycle requirements including creation, approval, publication, review, amendment and archiving.
- Establish governance reporting, compliance monitoring and document review processes.
- Define Executive, Board Committee and Board approval pathways and forward schedules.
- Establish consistent document management practices and a single, controlled source of truth for organisational documentation.
- Assess current systems, platforms and information-management practices and recommend fit-for-purpose future-state arrangements.
- Partner with leaders and SMEs to embed new arrangements.
- Lead organisation-wide implementation and establish sustainable documentation governance and control arrangements.
Why Apply?
This is a unique opportunity to establish how organisational documentation is governed and managed across WARRRL, creating a clear and consistent foundation for the organisation into the future.
With strong executive sponsorship and visibility across the business, you will have significant autonomy to shape, design and embed a practical documentation governance model that strengthens clarity, consistency and accountability.
