Project Manager & Estimator

Job Purpose Summary: At Kitchen, Bath & More, every team member plays a role in delivering the craftsmanship, service, and experience our clients rely on. The Project Manager & Estimator is responsible for managing commercial projects, larger remodels, and other work requiring detailed estimating, scheduling, and coordination. This position bridges the gap between sales, design, and field execution, ensuring that projects are scoped accurately, priced competitively, and delivered on time and on budget. This role will bring structure and clarity to KBM's project process, giving designers and leadership the confidence to pursue larger, more complex opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Estimating & Bidding

· Reviews construction plans, specifications, and bid documents

· Complete material takeoffs and develop detailed project estimates

· Develops project scopes and proposals for commercial and larger residential projects

· Solicits and review subcontractor and vendor pricing

· Prepares commercial bids and identify exclusions, allowances, and potential scope gaps

· Produces accurate, competitive estimates that reflect true project scope and costs

· Tracks project costs and monitors estimated versus actual margins for future improvement

· Identifies problems before they impact the schedule or project profitability

· Minimized missed scope items and change-order issues through thorough, proactive planning

· Ensures projects maintain expected margins from start to completion

Project Coordination & Scheduling

· Coordinates projects from handoff through completion

· Develops and maintain project schedules

· Coordinates materials, deliveries, subcontractors, and installation

· Assists with larger residential remodels requiring significant coordination

· Conducts jobsite visits as needed to monitor progress and address issues

· Keeps projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward with minimal disruption

Communication & Documentation

· Proactively communicates with general contractors, customers, designers, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle

· Attends project meetings as needed

· Manages RFIs, change orders, and project documentation

· Maintains clear communication between sales, design, customers, and field teams to reduce issues during handoff

· Reduces the amount of project logistics managed by designers and leadership

Team Coordination

· Coordinate closely with the Rochester Outside Sales representative on contractor accounts

· Build long-term relationships with Rochester-area contractors, builders, and customers

· Contribute to the growth and culture of the Rochester location as it develops

· Maintain high levels of contractor and customer satisfaction

· Support the growth of repeat business from Rochester-area accounts

· Contribute to the growth and culture of the Rochester location as a key member of the operation

Processes & Growth

· Develops repeatable estimating and project management processes

· Supports KBM’s market growth and builds the company’s capacity to pursue larger, more complex projects over time

Accepts other duties and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

· Experience in construction estimating or project management

· Ability to read plans, specifications, and construction documents

· Strong understanding of construction sequencing and how projects are built

· Experience working with subcontractors and vendors

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Comfortable managing multiple active projects simultaneously

· Detail-oriented with a solid understanding of project costs and margins

· Comfortable working both in an office setting and in the field

Preferred

· Experience with commercial flooring, cabinets, interior finishes, or remodeling

· Experience communicating directly with general contractors and commercial clients
