Project Manager - Banking Sector

Job Summary

ValleySoft is looking for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the banking and financial services sector to lead and deliver technology and business transformation projects. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and stakeholder expectations within banking environments, ensuring successful project delivery in line with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project delivery, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.

• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.

• Coordinate with business teams, IT departments, vendors, and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely delivery.

• Manage banking technology projects, such as core banking systems, digital banking, payment solutions, banking integrations, or regulatory initiatives.

• Develop and maintain project plans, status reports, RAID logs, and governance documentation.

• Facilitate project meetings, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communications.

• Identify and resolve project issues, escalate risks when necessary, and implement corrective actions.

• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, business requirements, and applicable banking policies and regulations.

• Manage project changes and ensure proper impact assessment, approval, and communication.

• Coordinate testing, UAT, deployment, and post-implementation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in project management, preferably within banking or financial services.

• Proven experience managing banking projects involving business and technology stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of banking operations and processes, such as core banking, payments, digital channels, cards, lending, or banking integrations.

• Experience with project management methodologies, including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery approaches.

• Strong skills in project planning, risk management, budgeting, reporting, and stakeholder management.

• Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.

• Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Strong English communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.

• Experience with core banking platforms, digital transformation, payment systems, or regulatory compliance projects.

• Experience working with banks, financial institutions, or banking technology vendors.
