Project Manager – Renewable Energy / BESS

€65,000-€85,000 per annum + bonus

We are working with a well-capitalised international energy platform that develops, builds, owns and operates grid-balancing assets. As the business expands into Spain, it is looking to strengthen its local team with a Project Manager to support the delivery of its first utility-scale Battery Energy Storage (BESS) projects.

This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of projects as they progress towards construction and delivery, working closely with an experienced Spanish team and established engineering and construction specialists in the UK.

The business is open to both established Project Managers and less senior professionals who have already gained meaningful, hands-on project management experience and are looking to take the next step in their careers.

The Company

Spain represents an important growth market for the business, offering the opportunity to join a growing local operation while benefiting from the financial backing, technical expertise and operational support of an established international platform.

The initial focus is utility-scale BESS, with potential exposure to other flexible energy technologies as the business expands.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage utility-scale BESS projects through pre-construction, construction, commissioning and handover, depending on project stage.
• Coordinate project programmes, budgets, contractors and technical stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Manage relationships with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, suppliers and other project partners.
• Support procurement, contract management and the coordination of grid connection activities.
• Monitor project progress, costs, risks, quality and HSE requirements, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
• Work closely with development, engineering and construction teams in Spain and the UK.
• Provide clear project reporting and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications

• Demonstrable hands-on project management experience within utility-scale renewable energy, BESS or related energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience taking direct responsibility for project delivery activities, rather than solely providing engineering or technical support.
• Exposure to construction, contractor management, project scheduling and budget control.
• Experience in utility-scale BESS, solar PV, wind or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of the Spanish renewable energy market and project delivery environment.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent Spanish and professional working proficiency in English.
