Project Manager (Microsoft Business Solutions & Digital Transformation)

About the Role

Data4Every1 is looking for a hands-on Project Manager to lead software implementation and digital transformation projects across South Africa and Zambia, with occasional travel where required.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with clients, consultants, and leadership teams to keep projects on track, stakeholders informed, and deliverables completed.

The successful candidate will manage multiple concurrent projects across ERP, business systems, reporting, and Microsoft technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Coordinate project activities across consultants, developers, clients, and third-party vendors.
• Facilitate project kick-offs, status meetings, workshops, and steering committee meetings.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
• Ensure projects are delivered according to agreed objectives and timelines.

Governance & Reporting

• Maintain project plans, action registers, risk logs, and decision logs.
• Track project budgets, effort utilisation, and milestone achievement.
• Produce weekly client status reports and executive summaries.
• Ensure project documentation is complete and auditable.

Stakeholder Management

• Build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
• Manage stakeholder expectations proactively.
• Escalate concerns early and communicate clearly around project status, risks, and decisions.
• Maintain excellent client communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Process Improvement

• Help improve project management standards and templates.
• Promote adoption of Microsoft project management tools.
• Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

Experience

• 2+ years' experience managing business systems, ERP, CRM, reporting, Microsoft technology, or digital transformation projects
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proven track record of client-facing project delivery.

Communication

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong meeting facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to produce clear status reports and executive updates.

Project Management Tools

Experience using project management tools to create and maintain project schedules, track progress, manage dependencies, and report on project status.

Experience with Microsoft Project, Project for the Web, Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, Wrike, or similar tools is advantageous.

Microsoft Ecosystem Experience

Experience using most of the following:

• Microsoft Teams
• SharePoint Online
• Microsoft Planner
• Microsoft Lists
• Microsoft Project / Project for the Web
• Power BI
• Microsoft 365

Project Controls

Experience maintaining:

• Project plans
• Action registers
• Risk logs
• RAID logs
• Budget tracking
• Status reporting

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Dynamics 365 experience
• Dynamics 365 Business Central exposure
• Microsoft Project Operations exposure
• ERP implementation experience
• PMP certification
• PRINCE2 certification
• Agile certification
• Change management experience

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 6 months:

• Clients receive consistent weekly project updates.
• Project actions are clearly owned and tracked.
• Risks and issues are identified early.
• Project budgets are monitored proactively.
• Project governance is standardised across all client projects.
• Stakeholders have visibility of project progress at all times.

Screening Questions:

1. How many years of experience do you have managing software implementation projects (ERP, Dynamics 365, Business Central, or CRM), and what was your role on the most recent one?

2. Describe a project where you managed the budget, timeline, and risk/issue log simultaneously across multiple concurrent engagements. What tools did you use to track them?

3. What is your experience level with Microsoft project management tools (Microsoft Project, Project for the Web, Project Operations, Azure DevOps, Planner)? Please specify which tools and for how long.

4. Have you produced executive- or client-facing status reports and presented to steering committees or executive sponsors? Please give an example of a challenging stakeholder situation you managed.

5. Do you hold any relevant certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or Microsoft-specific).
