What they need

Описание на позицията

About Renewables DC Renewables DC is a rapidly growing renewable energy development company specializing in the development of utility-scale photovoltaic, wind, battery energy storage (BESS), and hybrid energy projects across Bulgaria and Romania.

Between 2020 and 2026, our team developed and advanced more than 4 GW of renewable energy and energy storage projects, supporting investments exceeding EUR 1.6 billion.

As our portfolio continues to expand, we are looking for a driven, structured, and proactive Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of developing large-scale renewable energy projects from early-stage origination through permitting and grid connection to Ready-to-Build (RTB) status and construction handover.

Your Role As Project Manager , you will be responsible for leading and driving the end-to-end development of utility-scale PV, Wind, and BESS projects. You will act as the central manager coordinating cross-functional teams (legal, engineering, environmental, land acquisition) and external stakeholders (governmental authorities, municipalities, grid operators, and local communities) to ensure projects hit technical, legal, and commercial milestones on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Lead utility-scale solar, wind, BESS, and hybrid energy projects through all development stages—from site selection and origination to Ready-to-Build (RTB) status.
  • Permitting & Urban Planning: Drive zoning, urban planning (PUP), environmental impact assessments (EIA/RIOSV), and building permit procedures with local municipalities, ministries, and state authorities.
  • Grid Connection Management: Coordinate grid connection processes with the Transmission System Operator (ESO) and regional distribution companies (ERPs), ensuring timely progress on grid access applications, preliminary/final agreements, and grid studies.
  • Schedule & Milestone Tracking: Develop, monitor, and update detailed project schedules, progress reports, budgets, and risk matrices to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Coordinate internal and external multidisciplinary teams, including legal counsels, land negotiators, engineers, environmental experts, surveyors, and external consultants.
  • Land Acquisition Support: Work alongside the land acquisition team and legal department to secure land rights, lease agreements, and easements necessary for project development and infrastructure corridors.
  • Contractor & Consultant Management: Scope, commission, and manage technical studies, designs, and surveys (geotechnical, topographical, environmental) provided by third-party engineering firms and specialists.
  • Risk Management & Problem Solving: Identify technical, regulatory, and administrative risks early in the process and implement effective mitigation strategies to keep projects moving forward.
  • Reporting & Presentation: Prepare milestone reports, investment presentations, and project updates for senior management, investors, and joint-venture partners.
  • Site Visits & Local Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct regular site visits, manage local stakeholder relationships, and represent the company in public hearings and institutional meetings.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: University degree in Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, Project Management, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of project management experience in renewable energy, real estate development, construction, or large infrastructure projects in Bulgaria.
  • Permitting & Administrative Knowledge: Good understanding of Bulgarian territorial planning (ZUT), environmental regulations, and administrative procedures.
  • Grid Connection Understanding: Familiarity with grid connection procedures, energy legislation (ZEE), and the operational frameworks of ESO and local distribution grid operators.
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
  • Commercial Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities with a practical, solution-driven approach to technical and administrative challenges.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar). Basic proficiency in AutoCAD / GIS tools is a plus.
  • Languages: Native/Fluent Bulgarian and Fluent English (both written and spoken).
  • Mobility: Valid Category B driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across Bulgaria for site visits and public authority meetings.

What We Offer

  • High-Impact Portfolio: Direct involvement in shaping some of the largest utility-scale solar, wind, and storage developments in Southeast Europe.
  • End-to-End Exposure: Opportunities to manage projects through every phase of their lifecycle, engaging with top-tier technical, legal, and financial partners.
  • Autonomy & Responsibility: High degree of independence and ownership over assigned projects from day one.
  • Career Growth: Continuous professional development in a fast-paced, high-growth industry alongside industry-leading professionals.
  • Competitive Package: Attractive remuneration package reflective of experience and track record.
  • Performance Bonus: Result-oriented bonus scheme linked to key project development milestones (e.g., obtaining PUP, grid connection agreements, RTB).
  • Work Tools: Company laptop, smartphone, and all tools required for flexible, field, and office work.
  • Culture: A collaborative, supportive, and dynamic environment driven by passion for the green energy transition.

Why Join Renewables DC? At Renewables DC, project management goes beyond tracking schedules—you will actively solve real-world development challenges and bring gigawatts of green power to reality. If you are a proactive, organized professional ready to drive high-impact projects, we’d love to hear from you.
