Project Manager

About the role

DJS Interior Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and delivering construction and interior design projects from inception to completion. As Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role is essential to our business operations and directly impacts our reputation for excellence in the construction and interior design sector.

Key responsibilities

• Planning, scheduling and coordinating all project activities, including design, procurement, construction and installation phases
• Managing project budgets, cost estimates and financial tracking to ensure profitability and adherence to budgetary constraints
• Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, contractors and suppliers to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives
• Monitoring project progress and performance against timelines, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes and quality standards throughout all project phases
• Managing project teams, including subcontractors and internal staff, to ensure efficient resource allocation and productivity
• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, including reports, contracts and correspondence
• Conducting site inspections and quality assurance checks to verify workmanship and material standards
• Resolving project issues and conflicts in a timely and professional manner
• Reporting project status to senior management and stakeholders on a regular basis

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of proven project management experience in the construction or interior design industry
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, techniques and building codes relevant to Malaysian standards
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (such as Microsoft Project, AutoCAD or similar platforms)
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, cost controls and financial reporting
• Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical and decision-making capabilities
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to conduct regular site visits
• Professional certifications in project management (such as PMP or PRINCE2) are highly desirable
