About the Job

We are looking for a competent Commercial Construction Project Manager who can come in and hit the ground running. This person will be the main lead on an exciting new design and build project in Invercargill that will see them through from the initial stage to completion. You will work alongside the Regional Manager and Invercargill construction team to ensure the successful delivery of projects in Southland.

Skills You Will Need

Being an integral member of our construction team, you will have natural leadership ability and a thorough understanding of NZ commercial construction methods. You will be able to confidently utilise your programming abilities, to ensure your projects are delivered on programme and to the highest quality.  You will be driven to succeed personally and drive the success of those around you.

Additionally, we will be looking for the following attributes from candidates:

• A trade qualification or tertiary qualification in construction management or quantity surveying
• At least 5+ years experience in managing a mix of medium to large, design and build commercial construction projects
• Out of town travel may be required
• Ideally looking for site-based construction people who have come up through the ranks
• Ability to interpret and understand drawings and structures with a view to offering optimum value for the client
• Sound knowledge of the NZ construction market and relevant commercial construction legislation experience
• Competence in Microsoft Office including MS Project (SharePoint and Procore advantageous)
• Proven ability to lead others
• Solid programming skills
• Strong financial management with the ability to drive cost accountability
• Outstanding written and oral communication
