Project Manager

About the Role: MMD Construction are seeking to recruit an experienced and ambitious Project Manager to join our growing team in Cork. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the successful completion of the project, adhering to budget, timeline, safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the management, coordination and execution of the scope of works for projects, whilst meeting the project objectives set out for EHS, design, technical, quality, programme and commercial.
• Coordinate, monitor and review construction drawings, specifications and work requirements.
• Allocate and manage resources to ensure that they are available when they are needed throughout the construction projects.
• Determine the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed.
• Manage quality control for the lifecycle of the project and ensure all project documentation is managed correctly.
• Ensure material and equipment are ordered and delivered according to schedule.
• Prepare reports on Project Management Software.
• Modify and update the project programme with senior management to ensure key milestones are met.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.
• Ensure compliance with BC(A)R.
• Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects and key team members of the project team.

Qualifications:

• Third Level Qualification in relevant Construction Discipline.

Required Skills:

• Background in engineering is desirable.
• Have at least 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on value, risks, and programme
• Have excellent communication, interpersonal skills and negotiation skills.
• Committed to working as part of a team and progress career development.
• Be motivated, organised and have excellent time management skills.
• Proven ability to lead and manage teams.
• Good computer skills.
• Good knowledge of construction material and processes.
• Be able to multitask with a strong understanding of core manager duties.
