Project Manager

About the role

We are a growing IT software house based in Johor Bahru, and we're looking for an experienced, hands-on Project Manager to lead our software development projects from kickoff to delivery. You'll not only manage timelines and deliverables — you'll also lead, grow, and inspire the people behind them.

Project delivery

• Plan and manage software projects end-to-end — scope, timeline, resources, and budget.

• Act as the main point of contact between clients and the internal development team.

• Break down project requirements into clear tasks and assign them to the right team members.

• Run daily standups, sprint planning, and project review meetings.

• Track project progress, identify risks early, and resolve blockers before they escalate.

• Prepare and share project status updates with stakeholders regularly.

• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations before release.

• Manage change requests and handle scope creep professionally.

• Maintain good project documentation throughout the full project lifecycle.

Team leadership

• Lead, motivate, and develop the project team — creating a positive environment where people do their best work.

• Foster effective collaboration across developers, designers, and BQA — making sure everyone is aligned and working toward the same goal.

• Monitor individual and team performance, provide constructive feedback, and support continuous growth.

• Identify skill gaps within the team and work with management to close them through training or mentoring.

• Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and open communication within the project team.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience managing software or IT projects, with at least 1 year in a team lead or people management capacity.

• Proven ability to lead and motivate a cross-functional development team.

• Familiar with Agile or Scrum methodology.

• Good understanding of the software development process (SDLC).

• Strong communication skills — able to explain technical things to non-technical clients clearly.

• Comfortable using project tools like Clickup, Trello, Notion, or similar.

• Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities at once.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with some ambiguity.

• PMP or equivalent certification is a plus, but not required.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin
