Project Manager – Marine Construction

Pacific Marine Group (PMG) delivers complex marine, civil and construction projects across Northern Australia and the Pacific. With more than 180 people across our Marine, Dive and Construction operations, our projects take us from ports and coastal infrastructure to regional and remote locations where no two jobs are quite the same.

We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Construction team and play a key role in the planning, preparation and delivery of PMG projects.

Based in Townsville, you’ll work alongside our operational, commercial and support teams across current and upcoming projects. Depending on project requirements, this could see you involved in everything from tender and methodology development through to mobilisation, contract administration, project delivery and close-out.

What you'll be doing

This is a hands-on project management role with exposure across the full project lifecycle. Depending on the projects assigned, you’ll:

• Plan and coordinate projects from early preparation through mobilisation, delivery and close-out;
• Develop project methodologies, budgets, forecasts and supporting documentation;
• Manage procurement, project expenditure and commercial performance;
• Oversee contract administration and project reporting;
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, resources and logistics;
• Work directly with clients and build strong, practical working relationships;
• Provide technical leadership and solve problems as project requirements evolve;
• Monitor project performance against scope, budget and contractual requirements; and
• Drive safe, high-quality outcomes while looking for smarter ways to deliver.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who can take ownership, think ahead and operate confidently in a contracting environment where projects, locations and priorities can change.

You'll bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Project Management;
• Demonstrated project management experience within civil, construction, marine or a similarly complex project environment;
• Experience working across multidisciplinary projects;
• Strong commercial awareness, including budgets and contract administration;
• Strong planning, organisation and decision-making skills;
• The ability to build effective relationships with clients, contractors and internal teams; and
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.

Experience in marine construction, piling, precast concrete or projects with significant logistics and mobilisation requirements will be highly regarded.
