Project Manager

EXCEL is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to join our team in multiple home office and regional office locations.

We are looking for construction professionals with experience executing complex projects in the industrial market, including petrochemical, refining, chemical, LNG, power, data center, and other heavy industrial facilities.

PROJECT MANAGERS

Ideal candidates will have:

• 7–15+ years of industrial construction experience

• 3–5+ years in a Project Manager or comparable project leadership role

• Experience managing projects or major work packages from preconstruction through completion

• Strong understanding of mechanical/piping, E&I, civil/structural, or multidiscipline construction

• Demonstrated responsibility for project safety, quality, cost, schedule, productivity, and client satisfaction

• Experience with cost forecasting, earned progress, scheduling, procurement, subcontract management, change management, and project closeout

• Ability to identify project risks early and develop practical solutions

• Strong commercial awareness, including understanding contract requirements, scope management, change orders, and cost recovery

• Proven ability to lead project teams and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineering firms, subcontractors, and vendors

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGERS

Ideal candidates will have:

• 2–7 years of industrial construction experience
• Experience supporting project management, field engineering, project controls, construction management, or similar functions
• Working knowledge of industrial construction drawings, specifications, schedules, budgets, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change management
• Ability to track quantities, productivity, costs, commitments, and project progress
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• A willingness to spend time in the field and understand how the work is actually being executed
• The drive and capability to develop into a Project Manager with increasing responsibility

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We want people who understand that successful project management is more than producing reports. Our PMs are expected to know their projects, understand the work, anticipate problems, manage the commercial side of the contract, support field execution, and take ownership of results.

A construction management, engineering, or related degree is preferred, but relevant industrial construction experience and demonstrated performance are equally important.

These positions will be based in EXCEL home office and regional office locations, supporting projects and field operations across our markets. Periodic travel to project sites and client locations will be required, depending on the position and project needs.
