Project Manager

About the role

You will take ownership of multidisciplinary engineering projects from initial scope and design coordination through procurement to commissioning. Working closely with customers, engineers, workshop teams, suppliers and site contractors, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, commercially and to the standard expected by major industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Taking overall ownership of project scope, programme, budget and delivery
• Developing and maintaining practical project schedules and resource plans
• Coordinating engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning activities as appropriate
• Managing customer expectations and maintaining clear, proactive communication
• Monitoring project costs, commitments, forecasts and margins
• Identifying, documenting and managing variations and scope changes
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site activities
• Leading project meetings and providing accurate progress and commercial reporting
• Identifying project risks early and driving timely resolution
• Supporting site scoping, installation, commissioning and project close-out

About you

• At least five years' experience managing engineering, manufacturing or industrial projects
• Experience delivering mechanical equipment, process systems, plant upgrades or similar capital projects
• Strong commercial capability, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and variation management
• The ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications and project documentation
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, suppliers and contractors
• Confidence working with major industrial customers and within operational sites
• Strong planning, communication and stakeholder-management skills
• A relevant engineering, trade, project management or technical qualification advantageous, as would experience in FIDIC.
