What they need

Summary

We're partnering with a well-established, employee-owned mechanical contractor that's expanding its Orange County operations and adding an experienced Project Manager to its Anaheim-area team.

You'll lead commercial, healthcare, and industrial mechanical projects across Orange County and the greater Southern California region. You'll work closely with experienced preconstruction, engineering, and field teams. The company has a strong backlog, so the role offers long-term stability and a clear path for growth. Because the company is employee-owned, you'd also share in its success.

We're seeking candidates with a commercial mechanical construction background and a proven track record of managing HVAC and/or plumbing projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial HVAC and/or plumbing projects from preconstruction through closeout
  • Own project budgets, forecasting, schedules, and cost control to hit financial targets
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, owners, and project stakeholders
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and contract administration
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes to set projects up for success
  • Partner with Superintendents and field teams to maintain schedules, safety, and quality standards
  • Coordinate subcontractors, equipment and material deliveries, and key project milestones
  • Lead internal and client-facing project meetings
  • Identify risks early, resolve construction challenges, and support value engineering efforts
  • Oversee quality control, inspections, commissioning coordination, and project closeout

Requirements

  • 3+ years of commercial mechanical construction experience preferred
  • Project management experience with a mechanical contractor or specialty subcontractor
  • Commercial HVAC and/or plumbing construction experience required
  • Strong command of project budgeting, scheduling, forecasting, and cost control
  • Experience managing procurement, subcontractors, change orders, and project documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Experience on healthcare, industrial, institutional, or large-scale commercial projects preferred
  • Experience with HCAI (formerly OSHPD) healthcare projects a plus
  • Established relationships with Orange County general contractors a plus
  • Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar construction software preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent industry experience

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Employee ownership
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation
  • Training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities
  • Opportunity to manage large-scale commercial and healthcare projects in Orange County
