Project Manager, Construction Design & Asset Management

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead capital and operational projects across our workplace, operational, and field facilities portfolio. In this role, you'll be the primary driver of project delivery—from planning and design through construction and closeout—ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You'll coordinate with diverse stakeholders including business leaders, facility operators, consultants, contractors, and vendors while balancing operational needs, regulatory compliance, and financial objectives.

What You'll Do

Project Delivery

• Lead end-to-end project execution including planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
• Develop project charters, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and execution plans
• Monitor performance and proactively manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk
• Coordinate with business units to minimize operational disruptions and facilitate smooth project turnover

Financial Oversight

• Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cash flows, and financial reporting
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and manage potential overruns
• Prepare funding requests, business cases, and change requests with supporting financial analysis

Design & Construction Management

• Manage relationships with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors
• Review designs for technical compliance, operational requirements, and lifecycle value
• Coordinate permits, inspections, commissioning activities, and quality assurance
• Ensure all construction activities meet safety and contractual requirements

Risk & Compliance

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks throughout the lifecycle
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, regulatory requirements, building codes, and standards
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and support audit requirements

Safety & Stakeholder Leadership

• Champion a strong safety culture and ensure contractor compliance with safety requirements
• Build effective relationships across business partners, operations teams, and functional support groups
• Facilitate clear communication and collaborative problem-solving
• Support change management and asset management strategies

What You'll Bring

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Facilities Management, or related field
• 7+ years of project management experience with construction, renovation, workplace, infrastructure, or facility projects
• Proven track record managing capital budgets, schedules, procurement, contracts, and contractor performance
• Demonstrated success delivering multiple concurrent projects in complex operational environments

Preferred:

• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
• Professional Engineering (P.Eng.), Architectural, or equivalent professional designation
• Experience with stage-gate governance processes and regulated industries
