Project Description:

Our client, an established Western Canadian audio visual integrator, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of audio visual (AV) projects at a large, complex public-infrastructure site in the Edmonton region.

The successful consultant will be the integrator's dedicated Project Manager on the engagement. They will work closely with the site owner's internal project team, vendors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and deliver AV scope on schedule, on budget, and to a high standard of quality.

This role suits a client-focused PM with strong AV knowledge. You might come from an IT integration background or a construction project management background, and either is welcome as long as you have solid AV experience.

Experience and Role Accountabilities

  • Manage all assigned AV project work from planning and kickoff through installation, commissioning, closeout, and client sign-off.
  • Collaborate day to day with the site owner's project team and project manager to align on scope, schedules, priorities, and site access.
  • Manage vendors, subcontractors, and trades, including scheduling, coordination, deliverables, and performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear, proactive, and regular status updates.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, milestones, RAID logs, change requests, and project documentation.
  • Track, analyze, and report on project data, including equipment lists, schedules, cost tracking, and progress metrics, to support informed decision-making.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work, and coordinate with general contractors and other trades on site.
  • Ensure materials, documentation, and site conditions are ready ahead of field deployment.
  • Identify risks, issues, and potential delays early, and drive them to resolution.
  • Manage scope changes through the appropriate review and approval processes.
  • Review installation and commissioning progress to make sure quality standards are met.
  • Deliver a client- and customer-centric experience throughout the project lifecycle.

Education and Skills

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience managing audio visual, construction, or IT integration projects.
  • Strong understanding of AV systems, installation practices, and integration workflows, such as displays and LED walls, audio and paging systems, video conferencing, control systems, and AV infrastructure.
  • Proven experience managing vendors, subcontractors, and multiple stakeholders on complex projects.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working with data for tracking, reporting, and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or similar project management tools, and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and client relationship skills.
  • Strong leadership, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP or CAPM certification (an asset, but not required).
  • AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.
  • Manufacturer certifications such as Crestron, Q-SYS, Extron, or Dante.
  • Experience with airports, transit, or other critical infrastructure and public-sector environments.
  • Familiarity with AVIXA, PMI, or ITIL methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain a federal security clearance for restricted-area site access.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
