Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager – BESS to oversee contract management, production, logistics and commissioning for utility-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects in Italy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in renewable energy project management, particularly battery storage, and will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest safety and quality standards. EPC experience is highly preferred.

This position is remote within Italy.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management of BESS projects, from initial contract negotiation through to commissioning and customer handover.
• Coordinate project feasibility assessments, define project scope and delivery plans, and assemble cross-functional project teams.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to meet customer requirements and achieve project objectives.
• Lead cross-cultural teams and manage project quality, costs, schedules, communication and risks.
• Coordinate internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Manage project schedules and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards.
• Monitor project progress, report on KPIs and resolve technical or logistical challenges.
• Support business development by providing technical input for new BESS opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience managing BESS or other renewable energy projects, such as solar, wind or grid-scale storage, and at least 4 years of overall project management experience.
• Business-fluent Italian and English; Chinese language skills would be a major plus.
• A degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Project Management, or relevant experience in a related field.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid intercultural communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and risk mitigation abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
• Willingness to travel regularly for business, up to 30% during peak periods.
