Project Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Application Project Manager to join a large and established stores technology delivery function.

This is a high-profile project environment, working across technology that supports the retail store network. You will be responsible for managing complex projects from concept through to rollout, working closely with senior stakeholders and multiple delivery teams to keep things moving.

This is a role for a PM who is comfortable operating in complexity. You will need to build context quickly, manage challenging stakeholders, provide clear guidance and influence teams you do not directly manage.

Logistics

• Initial 6-month contract
• Upto $1,040 per day
• Hybrid working, 3 days per week in the office
• Large-scale Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects
• Agile and Hybrid delivery environments

What you'll be working on

• Large-scale application and technology projects across a retail stores environment
• Projects spanning concept, planning, delivery and rollout
• High-profile initiatives involving multiple technology and business teams
• Core project schedules, dependencies and component-based planning
• Working closely with Program Managers, delivery teams and senior stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Manage core project schedules across Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects
• Proactively manage project governance, financials, risks, issues and dependencies
• Develop component-based plans and establish clear guardrails for project delivery
• Coordinate stakeholders across technology and business teams
• Provide clear direction and guidance to challenging stakeholder groups
• Influence teams and stakeholders without direct authority
• Keep delivery on track and escalate issues early where required

What will make you successful

• Proven experience managing complex Tier 1 projects within a large organisation
• Strong Application or Technology Project Management experience
• Experience working across Agile and Hybrid environments
• Strong understanding of project schedules, dependencies and delivery planning
• Confident working with senior and executive stakeholders
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable operating in complex, non-hierarchical environments
• Proactive approach with the ability to work things out and get things moving
• Retail stores or frontline technology experience will be highly regarded
