About the Role
Renovating KC is looking for a Project Manager to own our projects from signed design agreement through signed construction contract. You’ll be the client’s main point of contact while the design comes together, build the estimate, sell the construction contract, and then manage project finances through construction alongside our Construction Managers.

This role is for someone who’s equally comfortable at a client’s kitchen table, in a budget spreadsheet, and walking a job with a trade partner.

We started in 2020 and have grown into an Inc. 5000 company with a team of 30+ designers, project managers, construction managers, and in-house craftsmen. We do kitchens, baths, basements, additions, and whole-home renovations across the Kansas City metro, and we invest in our people, process, and technology to do them well.

What You’ll Do

• Own the client relationship: Lead clients through design and estimating, set clear expectations on scope, budget, and schedule, and keep communication consistent from kickoff to contract.
• Estimate accurately: Build detailed estimates covering materials, labor, trade partners, and allowances, priced to hit our margin targets.
• Partner with design: Work with our design team to develop solutions that fit the client’s goals and budget, including baseline and option pricing.
• Coordinate trade partners and vendors: Gather quotes, review specs, and confirm pricing and lead times before contract.
• Drive the timeline: Manage pre-construction milestones so projects keep moving and launch on schedule.
• Sell and close the construction contract: Present the final proposal and guide clients to a signed agreement.
• Manage project finances: Stay accountable for budget, change orders, and invoicing through construction, working hand-in-hand with the Construction Manager who runs the field.
• Improve the process: Help refine how we estimate, communicate, and hand off projects as we grow.

What You Bring

• 5+ years in residential remodeling, construction, estimating, or project management
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating
• Comfort leading client conversations about money and scope, including the difficult ones
• Organized enough to juggle multiple projects at different stages without dropping details
• Experience with construction management software (JobTread a plus)
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Architecture, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
