Project Manager

M Group is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Queenstown team, taking ownership of construction projects from commencement through to completion and handover.

We’re looking for someone with a strong building background, a practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to coordinate people, programmes, budgets and quality. About the Role

You’ll be responsible for managing and coordinating construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and within budget.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing construction projects from commencement through to completion and handover.
• Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site teams.
• Monitoring construction programmes, budgets, costs and project performance.
• Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Ensuring quality standards, workmanship and health and safety requirements are maintained.
• Identifying and resolving construction issues, managing risks and minimising delays.
• Monitoring variations, costs and progress against project budgets.
• Maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and providing regular project updates.
• Overseeing practical completion, defect management and final handover.

About You

You’ll be a capable and driven construction professional who understands what it takes to deliver a successful building project.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry, with more experience highly regarded.
• A strong building or construction background, with a relevant qualification advantageous.
• Previous Project Management experience, or substantial site management, site supervision or contracting experience.
• Multi-unit residential construction experience, which would be a significant advantage.
• A sound understanding of construction methodologies, programmes, budgets and subcontractor management.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities, make decisions and keep projects moving.
• A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong focus on quality, accountability and results.
