Your Role

• Job Location: Norwich Research Park, UK
• Contract: Full time, initial term of 24 months

What you’ll do

• Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of a portfolio of grant-funded and internal projects.
• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, timelines and resource schedules across multiple workstreams.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and work with teams to keep delivery on track.
• Manage project governance activities, including reporting, risk registers, action tracking and executive updates.
• Coordinate grant administration, including budget tracking, claims, progress reports and compliance with funder requirements.
• Work closely with R&D, operations and finance teams to ensure resources, facilities and capacity are effectively planned.
• Manage relationships with external consortium partners, funders and key stakeholders.
• Support the preparation and submission of grant applications and contribute to wider fundraising activities.
• Introduce and improve project management processes, tools and reporting practices that support business growth.
• Provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior leaders on project priorities, risks, resource requirements and delivery options.

What you’ll bring to the role

• Strong organisational and project planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Experience working across cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct line management responsibility.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to a range of audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the confidence to challenge assumptions and identify practical solutions.
• A proactive and collaborative approach, with a focus on accountability, delivery and continuous improvement.
• Commercial awareness and an understanding of how projects contribute to wider business objectives.
• The ability to balance competing priorities and adapt effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
• High levels of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail.

Experience and qualifications

• Proven experience in a Project Manager role, managing multiple projects or programmes simultaneously including planning, scheduling, risk management and reporting.
• Strong budget management and financial tracking experience, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Experience working with external stakeholders, partners or funding bodies.
• Experience working within biotechnology, life sciences, research, agriculture, or a related scientific environment.
• Experience managing grant-funded projects, particularly those funded through organisations such as Innovate UK, UKRI or collaborative consortium programmes.
• Knowledge of grant compliance, claims processes and audit requirements.
• Experience supporting grant applications, funding bids or fundraising activities.
• A recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, PMI or equivalent).
