KAIA Inc. is an Emmy-winning visualization and communications firm with more than 30 years of experience helping federal agencies, including the FAA, NASA, DARPA and DHS, explain complex programs to the people they affect. We are growing our federal public engagement practice.

What you will do

· Lead a small team that plans and delivers public meetings, community events and stakeholder briefings.

· Shape engagement strategy: who needs to hear what, when, and in what form.

· Turn technical information into plain-language products the public can trust, working with subject matter experts.

· Serve as the client's main point of contact; run schedules, monthly status reporting and quality checks.

· Keep the team fully staffed and on deadline; step in when a role is open.

What you bring

· 3 to 10 years of combined experience in public affairs, public relations, journalism or risk communication, including event management.

· At least 2 years of project or program management.

· At least 2 years supporting a federal agency as an advisory or consulting contractor.

· Calm, neutral presence in tense public settings.

· Ability to obtain and keep a federal public trust background check.

Travel: Up to 25%, mostly multi-day trips to community meetings

Start: Early 2027. This role is contingent on a future project start; we are interviewing now

Nice to have: environmental, public health or infrastructure communication; PMP.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
