About the Client
Our client is a global technology provider supporting the air transport industry through innovative IT, communications and digital solutions. Its technology helps airports operate efficiently, airlines deliver seamless journeys, and governments manage secure and connected borders. Working with more than 2,500 transport and government organisations, the business operates at the heart of global air travel, delivering solutions that connect people, systems and operations worldwide.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee customer migrations from legacy baggage applications to newer technology platforms. The primary objective is to ensure a smooth, structured transition of customers onto the latest solutions, enabling legacy applications to be decommissioned once all migrations are complete. The role will involve managing multiple internal and external projects, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, timelines, budgets and quality standards. You will work closely with customers to understand their current system usage, develop migration plans and coordinate the activities required to successfully transition them to newer applications. Working across Product Management, Development, Sales, Pre-Sales, Implementation, Support, Billing and Delivery teams, you will take ownership of the end-to-end migration process, customer communications, project governance, reporting and risk management. This is a customer-facing role requiring strong project management, analytical and stakeholder management skills, alongside the ability to coordinate complex activities across geographically dispersed teams
Key Responsibilities
Manage customer migrations: Lead the transition of customers from legacy baggage applications to newer products, ensuring migrations are delivered in a structured and controlled manner.
Own the migration process: Establish and maintain end-to-end migration workflows, RACI matrices, governance structures and team handovers across Sales, Product, Implementation, Support and Billing.
Customer usage analysis: Produce monthly analysis of legacy product usage by customer, airport and system to identify migration opportunities and support transition planning.
Data management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer migration information across multiple systems, providing a single source of truth for migration status, readiness and risks.
Reporting and dashboards: Maintain Power BI dashboards tracking customer migration progress and produce regular monthly reports and statistics for relevant stakeholders.
Customer engagement: Work directly with customers to address migration queries, communicate progress and coordinate support from the appropriate Sales, Support or Implementation teams.
Cross-functional coordination: Collaborate with Product Development, Contract Management, Support, Delivery and other internal teams to ensure successful customer onboarding and migration.
Project delivery: Oversee the delivery of customers who have signed contracts for newer products, ensuring implementation meets agreed scope, specifications, timelines and quality standards.
Legacy charging: Coordinate with Product Development and Billing teams to implement appropriate charges for customers continuing to access legacy systems.
Risk and issue management: Identify and manage project risks, resolve issues, own escalations in conjunction with line management and ensure customer obligations are fulfilled.
Stakeholder management: Represent the project internally and externally, providing clear updates on progress, risks, dependencies and delivery performance.
Project governance: Prepare accurate project status reports and present progress, risks and key decisions at project review board meetings.
Migration acceleration: Work with Sales and Pre-Sales teams to use customer usage insights to identify opportunities to accelerate migration away from legacy platforms.
What we are looking for

Ideally 5–10 years of project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering projects in a commercial environment using established project management methodologies.
Ideally 2–4 years of experience working within an IT solutions provider or technology organisation. • Experience managing customer-facing projects involving multiple internal stakeholders and external customers.
Proven ability to coordinate complex workflows, dependencies and handovers across multiple business functions.
Experience managing customer transitions, migrations, implementations, onboarding programmes or technology transformation projects.
Strong experience in project reporting, data analysis and tracking delivery performance.
Experience managing risks, issues, escalations and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
Experience working within virtual, international or geographically distributed teams.
