Project Manager

Sage Search Partners is seeking a Project Manager for a custom design and fabrication firm in Irvine, California. This role owns project execution from design handoff through final delivery, keeping clients, engineering, and the production floor aligned on scope, schedule, and budget.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on project management experience in custom fabrication work, whether that is millwork, exhibits and displays, installations, specialty construction, or multi site rollout programs, along with an associate degree or equivalent and two to three years in a related role.

The client is also looking for someone comfortable reading construction drawings and estimates, strong on the math and analytical side, confident managing client relationships and budgets at the same time, and able to travel occasionally to project sites. This is a growing company in active build mode with new systems recently in place, so there is real ownership here and room to grow with it.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the main point of contact for clients, keeping approvals and feedback moving while sharing timelines, progress updates, samples, and photos, and collecting client provided graphics and art files on schedule.
• Build and own the project plan, tracking milestones, action items, and spend so each job lands on time and on budget.
• Line up the internal and external resources every project needs, negotiating scope, cost, and timing with vendors and in house teams.
• Check dimensions, materials, and design details against engineering drawings and client specifications before work moves forward.
• Inspect finished pieces for quality and function ahead of delivery or install.
• Lead kickoff and turnover meetings with engineering, operations, and production so everyone is working from the same scope and schedule.
• Partner with the shop floor to match project requirements to production capability and capacity.
• Identify risks early and put mitigation in place to protect delivery dates.
• Keep project files, schedules, and material samples current and organized.
• Carry projects end to end across trade show displays, museum exhibits, custom fabrication, and multi site rollouts.

Client Requirements:

• Associate degree or equivalent, plus two to three years of related experience, or a comparable mix of education and experience
• Proven project management experience in millwork, exhibit or display fabrication, installations, specialty construction, or rollout programs
• Working familiarity with construction drawings, materials, and estimating
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated success managing client relationships, budgets, and timelines at the same time
• Willingness to travel occasionally to client or project locations
