Project Manager

J & T Construction Ltd. is a locally owned and operated commercial construction company that has proudly served Newfoundland and Labrador since 1987. We are a mid-sized general contractor known for delivering high-quality projects and fostering strong relationships with our clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers.

We are currently seeking a motivated and organized Project Manager to join our team.

This position is suited to an experienced construction professional looking to further their career, but we are also interested in candidates with strong construction knowledge, technical education, or project coordination experience who are ready to take the next step into project management. Training and mentorship will be provided for the right candidate.

About the Role

The Project Manager will work closely with the construction and management teams to oversee projects from tender through close-out. The successful candidate will play a key role in project planning, coordination, communication, and document management to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and successfully.

Responsibilities

• Document control and project administration
• Review and interpret drawings and specifications
• Prepare and issue purchase orders/ sub-contracts
• Process, log, and distribute shop drawing submittals
• Prepare, submit, distribute, and track Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Prepare, submit, and track change orders
• Coordinate and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers
• Arrange permits, inspections, bonds, and related documentation
• Coordinate commissioning documentation and reports
• Manage project close-out requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Experience in commercial construction, project coordination, project management, estimating, engineering technology, construction management, or a related field
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, MS Project, and Bluebeam
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Experience

• Previous experience in commercial construction is preferred
• Experience in a Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Estimator, Site Supervisor, or Project Management role is considered an asset
• Relevant education or technical training will be considered
• Candidates with varying levels of experience are encouraged to apply
