What they need
Our client is the Asia regional office of a global insurance group. Its technology and operations strategy moves local activities in Japan and Taiwan towards global platforms and shared services. Three projects are under way: standardising infrastructure and production (third year), transferring activities to a global shared service centre (half of the workforce already operational), and transferring CIO Office activities to the group CIO organisation (first milestone reached).
Role and Responsibilities:
- You will provide project management and coordination across the three projects, each supervised by an internal leader. The client expects you to work autonomously, challenge country entities and spot blockers early.
- Maintain the roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, actions and decisions for the three projects, against their approved baselines.
- Infrastructure and production: track the reduction of the local infrastructure footprint and the delegation of production activities to global teams.
- Shared services: coordinate the remaining transition waves, readiness, knowledge transfer, acceptance and stabilisation with onshore teams and the shared service centre.
- CIO Office: help adapt the target delegation model and maintain a bi-weekly CIO dashboard covering priorities, risk actions, IT governance indicators and performance management.
- Prepare steering materials and executive reports focused on outcomes, blockers, trade-offs and decisions required.
- Challenge entities with facts and escalate early when milestones, quality or continuity are at risk.
Technical Skills
- Atleast 8 plus years of track record driving several transformation projects in parallel with many stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of infrastructure and production operations, including ITSM and ITIL processes (incident, change, problem, service transition).
- Experience of offshoring or shared services transitions, including knowledge transfer and SLA/KPI handover.
- Working knowledge of IT governance and CIO Office activities.
- Confidence to challenge senior stakeholders and anticipate issues
Nice to have
- Insurance or wider financial services experience.
- Hands-on infrastructure or offshoring background.
