About Melbourne Park

Melbourne Park is the home of iconic sporting and entertainment events – from the Australian Open to global superstars such as Beyoncé, Queen and Bruce Springsteen. Welcoming millions of visitors each year across venues including Rod Laver Arena, John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena, AAMI Park, CENTREPIECE and Kia Arena, Melbourne Park is one of the world's most recognised sporting and entertainment precincts.

As the precinct continues to evolve, Melbourne Park is investing in a diverse portfolio of capital projects designed to enhance infrastructure, improve visitor experiences, support operational excellence and position the precinct for future growth.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Capital Projects team and play a key role in the delivery of a varied portfolio of projects across the Melbourne Park precinct.

Working within a professional project delivery environment, you will be responsible for managing multiple capital works projects simultaneously, ranging from civil infrastructure upgrades and public realm improvements through to building refurbishments, venue enhancements and new built-form developments.

You will take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, coordinating consultants, contractors and key stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered safely on time and within budget. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery including design development, procurement, contract administration, construction management, risk mitigation and project close-out.

A critical aspect of the role will be balancing project delivery within a live operational environment, ensuring works are effectively planned around major sporting events, concerts and day-to-day precinct operations.

Supported by a Project Coordinator, you will also provide regular reporting to governance groups and senior leadership, ensuring transparency, accountability and successful project outcomes across the capital works portfolio.

The successful candidate will be employed on a two-year, full-time fixed-term contract.

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience delivering multiple capital works projects concurrently from planning through to completion.
  • Experience managing projects across civil infrastructure, building construction, refurbishment and/or public realm environments.
  • Strong design management capability, including coordinating consultants and resolving technical and operational challenges.
  • Sound understanding of procurement strategies, contract administration and project governance frameworks.
  • Strong contractor management skills with a focus on safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse internal and external groups.
  • Well-developed financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and claims administration.
  • The ability to successfully deliver projects within complex, live operational environments where business continuity is critical.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing project demands across a varied portfolio.

Why Join Melbourne Park?

This is an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing transformation of one of Australia's most iconic sporting and entertainment destinations while delivering a diverse and meaningful portfolio of capital projects.

In addition, you'll enjoy a range of benefits including:

  • Health & Wellbeing Program supporting your physical and mental wellbeing.
  • Professional development opportunities and exposure to cross-functional projects.
  • Tickets 2 U Program providing access to world-class events hosted across the precinct.
  • Onsite parking and café discounts.
  • Employee Assistance Program in partnership with Sonder.
  • A vibrant and collaborative workplace culture with regular team events and engagement initiatives.
