Project Manager

Great opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a growing global chemical manufacturer located just outside Savannah, GA.

Our client is a leading chemical manufacturer seeking a Project Manager to independently manage major capital projects involving facility expansions, chemical processing equipment installations, and manufacturing infrastructure improvements from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects ranging from $2M to $20M+ from concept through engineering, construction, commissioning, and startup.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, contractor coordination, and resource allocation.
• Oversee manufacturing facility expansions, chemical processing equipment installations, and infrastructure improvements.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, outside engineering firms, equipment suppliers, and construction contractors.
• Provide hands-on technical support throughout project design and execution.
• Review engineering specifications, PFDs, P&IDs, equipment layouts, and technical design packages.
• Manage contractor selection, bid evaluations, procurement, and construction activities.
• Monitor project costs, schedules, quality, and risks while implementing corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Mentor junior engineers and communicate project progress to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of engineering and capital project management experience, preferably in chemical, petrochemical, pulp & paper manufacturing, or similar process engineering environment.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing multimillion-dollar capital projects ($2M+).
• Strong background in facility expansions, process equipment installations, and industrial construction.
• Experience managing engineering contractors, equipment vendors, project budgets, and schedules.
• Strong technical understanding of industrial processing equipment, plant utilities, and manufacturing infrastructure.
