Project Manager – Field Delivery | Brazil

Location: São Paulo, Brazil (with travel to project sites)

Employment Type: Independent Contractor

About Wayzim

Wayzim is a global technology company focused on intelligent logistics, automation, and advanced sortation solutions. The company delivers complex automation projects for leading e-commerce and logistics operators worldwide, helping customers improve operational efficiency through advanced equipment and integrated systems.

Wayzim is currently delivering two high-profile projects for Mercado Libre (MELI) in Latin America. The successful execution and formal acceptance of these initial projects are strategically important, creating opportunities for a substantial pipeline of future projects and long-term commercial agreements across the region.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager based in Brazil to lead on-site project execution, coordinate installation activities, manage customer expectations, and ensure successful project delivery through final client acceptance.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, results-oriented Project Manager to oversee the local execution of complex automation and equipment installation projects in Brazil.

Wayzim operates a dual-project-management model. The China headquarters team manages project initiation, detailed engineering, factory production, equipment shipping, and logistics to the local site. The local Project Manager takes ownership once the equipment arrives on-site and remains responsible for execution through final customer acceptance (PAC/FAC), with support from the China project management and engineering teams.

This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, field leadership, project coordination, and strong customer relationship management. The ideal candidate can interpret engineering drawings, supervise installation contractors, monitor progress, enforce safety and quality standards, and resolve operational challenges in demanding project environments.

Equally important is the ability to manage customer expectations, de-escalate conflicts, communicate clearly under pressure, and maintain alignment between the customer, local installation teams, and Wayzim's headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of local project execution from equipment arrival at the site through final customer acceptance (PAC/FAC).
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer site management throughout installation and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate closely with China headquarters Project Managers, engineering teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project requirements and execution plans.
  • Lead and supervise local site managers, installation crews, electrical and mechanical subcontractors, and other relevant contractors.
  • Monitor daily installation progress, milestones, resource allocation, and project schedules.
  • Read and interpret CAD layout drawings, mechanical assembly drawings, and basic electrical diagrams.
  • Audit subcontractor work on-site against approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Brazilian site safety, environmental, labor, and regulatory requirements.
  • Verify compliance with relevant Brazilian Regulatory Standards (NRs), including NR-10 and NR-35 requirements and certifications where applicable to the assigned activities.
  • Identify installation delays, technical issues, resource constraints, and other project bottlenecks, implementing practical corrective actions.
  • Manage customer expectations proactively, communicate progress transparently, and address concerns related to delays or site issues.
  • De-escalate conflicts professionally and maintain constructive relationships with customers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate technical troubleshooting and escalate engineering issues to the appropriate headquarters teams when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation progress, site issues, safety incidents, corrective actions, and project milestones.
  • Support commissioning, testing, punch-list resolution, and preparation for formal customer acceptance.
  • Drive timely completion of outstanding items and secure final project sign-off in coordination with the customer and internal teams.
  • Identify risks that could affect project timelines, costs, quality, or customer satisfaction and report them promptly to management.
  • Travel to project sites across Brazil as required and adapt to changing schedules and demanding installation environments.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience managing field delivery, installation, commissioning, or integration projects involving industrial automation, material handling systems, logistics equipment, heavy machinery, or complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience working on-site for at least one month or longer during installation or project execution.
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD layout drawings, mechanical assembly drawings, and basic electrical diagrams.
  • Experience supervising installation contractors and verifying that on-site work complies with engineering designs and technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable Brazilian safety, environmental, labor, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with NR-10 and NR-35 requirements and relevant certifications where applicable to the assigned activities.
  • Strong project coordination skills, including schedule monitoring, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead installation teams and subcontractors in fast-paced, high-pressure site environments.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to remain composed when managing frustrated customers or unexpected delays.
  • Strong interpersonal awareness and the ability to reassure stakeholders while driving practical solutions.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and comfortable working in environments where site conditions, schedules, and priorities can change quickly.
  • Professional fluency in Portuguese.
  • Professional working proficiency in English or Mandarin Chinese for daily coordination with China headquarters Project Managers and engineering teams.
  • Availability to travel across Brazil and work on-site according to project schedules, including irregular hours when required.
  • Current residence in São Paulo or willingness to travel regularly to project sites as required.

Experience working directly for major logistics or e-commerce operators such as Mercado Libre, DHL, Shopee, Amazon, or FedEx, particularly supervising vendor installations and automation integration, is highly valued.

Experience working for automation vendors, system integrators, or industrial equipment companies such as KNAPP, Dematic, Vanderlande, BEUMER Group, SSI Schaefer, or comparable organizations is also relevant.

Why Join Wayzim?

At Wayzim, you will have the opportunity to contribute to strategically important automation projects for major logistics and e-commerce operators across Latin America.

The successful delivery of our initial Mercado Libre projects is a critical step in establishing a stronger regional presence and unlocking future opportunities across the market.

This role offers direct involvement in complex technical projects, collaboration with international engineering and project management teams, and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on project quality, customer satisfaction, and business growth.

You will work in an international environment where technical expertise, effective leadership, and reliable project execution are essential to long-term success.

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package based on the candidate's experience, technical expertise, project delivery background, and overall qualifications.

  • Contract: Independent Contractor Agreement, managed through Deel.
  • Fixed Monthly Retainer: We would like to understand your monthly compensation expectations, considering the responsibilities and requirements of the role.
  • Working Arrangement: Field-based project execution, with travel to assigned project sites and coordination with international teams.
  • Travel Requirements: Availability to travel throughout Brazil and work on-site according to project schedules and operational needs.

If you have a strong technical background, proven field project management experience, and the ability to lead installation teams while maintaining customer confidence under pressure, we encourage you to apply.

Join Wayzim and help deliver the next generation of intelligent logistics automation in Brazil.
