Project Manager – Engineered Equipment OEM UV Disinfection

Are you the person who walks into a live project, gets control of it fast, and drives it over the line?

We're a multi-technology equipment manufacturer designing and building bespoke, engineered systems for demanding industrial customers. Our projects run from sales handover through design, procurement, manufacture, testing and delivery, often all the way to installation and commissioning on site.

We're looking for a Project Manager to take ownership of business-critical customer projects. Not a coordinator who tracks actions, but a Driver : someone who builds credibility quickly, leads through influence, and makes delivery happen without needing line-management authority to do it.

Delivery, end to end

You'll lock down scope, commitments, budgets and acceptance criteria at handover, then run an integrated plan across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality and service. You'll see constraints coming and clear them before they hit the customer, and you'll lead FAT, shipment readiness, SAT and a clean handover at close-out.

The customer relationship You're the customer's primary project contact. You'll run progress meetings, give straight answers on progress and risk, handle difficult conversations about delays and changes, and bring a recovery plan when things slip.

Commercial performance You'll own budgets, forecasts to complete and margin. Changes get assessed, priced and authorised before they're delivered, and you'll work with finance on milestone invoicing and with suppliers and customers on variations and claims.

Matrix leadership You'll agree priorities and resources with functional managers, align technical decisions to milestones, and hold people to their commitments constructively. Where conflicts can't be resolved, you'll escalate with clear options and a recommendation.

What you'll bring

• A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a closely related discipline)
• 5+ years' post-graduate experience , including customer-facing project management in an engineered-equipment OEM, industrial manufacturing, machinery, automation or systems integration environment
• A track record of delivering against scope, schedule, cost and quality
• Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical and/or controls engineering with procurement and manufacturing
• Solid commercial grip on budgets, forecasting, change control and contracts
• The confidence to lead cross-functional teams you don't directly manage

It'll set you apart if you have Engineer-to-order or configured equipment experience · FAT, installation and commissioning · international customers or suppliers · ERP/MRP and planning tools · APM, PRINCE2 or PMP · a history of taking over and recovering live projects

Who thrives here?

You're customer-focused, commercially aware and decisive. You're comfortable acting on incomplete information, as long as the risks and assumptions are out in the open. You keep the admin proportionate, and you'd rather fix the problem than write a report about it.

The role

• Contract: Initial 6-month contract with a clear route to permanent
• Working pattern: Flexible / hybrid, with regular travel to client sites and our offices
• Reporting to: Business Unit Leader
